05.02.10 - Annual Wake County Preservation Celebration in Cary draws crowd.
More than 150 preservation supporters including State Senator Richard Stevens, State Representative Jennifer Weiss, Wake County Commissioner Lindy Brown, Cary Council Members Gail Adcock and Don Frantz and Morrisville Council Member Margaret Broadwell turned out for the Annual Wake County Preservation Celebration in Cary on Sunday, May 2. The program included the reading of the Wake County Board of Commissioners Annual National Historic Preservation Month in Wake County proclamation by Commissioner Brown, the presentation of Landmark plaques to the owners of four (4) recently designated Landmarks, and the presentation of the latest additions to the Wake County Historic Preservation Commission’s Historic Preservation Collection at the Olivia Raney Library.  Also at the event, author K. Todd Johnson signed copies of Capital Area Preservation’s latest publication:  Historic Wake County, an Illustrated History of Raleigh and Wake County. 

Preceding the Celebration, three historic properties in downtown Cary were open for tour.
